Komolov > Actually. Speaking of Russia. There weren't iron and stone available on qood quantities in areas where our ancestors lived. Only woods. So they buit everything from wood. Everything. And it means nothing survived till modern times. Not fortresses, not houses. Nothing. And thei didn't bother with inventing writing. So it is really hard to restore Russia's history prior to 10th century. And even at that time sources are mostly of Greek or Arabian origin.
